Tampere Kuplii comics festival

Tampere Kuplii is a feel-good comics festival for everybody interested in comics and graphic novels.
The dates for 2015 are 25th to 29th, with the majority of programming taking place over the weekend.

The 2015 Tampere Kuplii will be the 9th time the festival is being organised. The festival is free of charge for the attendees and takes place (mostly) in the Finlayson area.

While most of the programming will be in Finnish, there will also be items to enjoy even if you don't speak Finnish, for example cosplay and our vendors' tables, where you can buy comics and other interesting things!

Opening hours

Tampere Kuplii will be open in the Finlayson area:
Sat 10-18 (vendors), 11-17.45 (small publishers)
Sun 11-17 (all)

Guest of Honour

This years Guest of Honour is Ville Ranta. He is one of the most talked about comic book artist in Finland at the moment.
Ranta has - among other accomplishments - been previously awarded the Sarjakuva-Finlandia (Comic Book Finlandia) prize in 2014.

Cosplay

Tampere Kuplii will be hosting its traditional cosplay competition, open for solo entries and teams up to 3 people. A custom soundtrack can be used for entry, but is not required. Entries must be made in advance, starting January 20th. In the contest, a team of judges will choose a group of finalists, who will then proceed to a public Internet vote, open for a few days after the event. All finalists will receive a small award and the main prizes will be awarded for the three most voted competitors.

The preferred method for entry is via the Finnish language entry system. However, for any English speaking visitors, we can accept manual entries via e-mail. Please direct inquiries via email to cosplay(at}tamperekuplii.fi.

The cosplay competition is now closed for further participants, but you can come and admire the cosplays on Saturday at 12.00 in Finnkino Plevna.

In addition to competitions, we will also feature free cosplay studio photography and a number of team photoshoots organized by the Cosplay Finland Tour photo team.
